The longer version
Stripe Connect lets a software platform onboard many businesses onto Stripe. Each club gets a connected account in its own name, with its own identity checks, bank details, and payout schedule. Card payments from players are charged to that account, and the platform never holds the club’s money.
Clubs care because it settles the question of who the money belongs to. The account is the club’s. If the club leaves the software, the Stripe account and its history stay with the club. It also means card data is handled by Stripe, so the club and the software never see a card number.
Setup takes a business registration, the owner’s identity, and a bank account. The common snag is starting to sell before the account is fully verified, which delays the first payout. Finish verification before the first paid booking, not after.
