The longer version
When a player pays by card, the money first sits in the club’s Stripe balance. A payout is the batch transfer from that balance to the club’s bank account. Stripe runs payouts on a schedule the club chooses, and each payout bundles many payments, minus refunds and processing fees.
Clubs care because cash flow depends on it. A weekly payout means Tuesday’s bookings reach the bank the following week. The bank statement then shows one line per payout, not one per booking, which is why matching payouts to bookings is a separate job.
The common mistake is expecting the bank line to equal the day’s sales. It will not: refunds, disputes, fees, and timing all move it. Read the payout breakdown in Stripe instead of the bank statement, and set a schedule that matches how the club pays its own bills.
